Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Alla Pugacheva on ‘Arlekino’. On the Hungary charts, superstar Alla Pugacheva’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This album has some very good songs like Arlekino and Aysberg. This is what good Retro should be.
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener.
Aysberg on Po ostrym iglam iarkogo ognia is solid and easy to listen to. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Delu vremia is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Leningrad is the song that really did it for me. Maestro without a doubt is the standout song of Po ostrym iglam iarkogo ognia. Million alyh roz - a classic song. Muzykant is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Paromshik (3:39) a good melody. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Po ostrym iglam iarkogo ognia is Pesenka pervoklassnika. I was truly moved when I heard Pesenka pro menia. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Starinnye chasy is a song to enjoy for years to come. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Vse mogut koroli is simple, dignified and effective, Alla Pugacheva refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. ZHenshina, kotoraia poet is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Zvezdnoe leto is a bit different from Alla Pugacheva stereotypical stuff.
