I am not a real Christmas music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Best Of The Season’ really is amazing. It’s natural for Anne Murray to take a stab at ‘Joy To The World’ considering her long-professed love for Godsplague. Since completing 1995’s ‘Joy To The World’, Anne Murray fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. IT makes me wanna dance!
is the more seemingly obscure song on Best Of The Season that bear up best to repeated listening.
This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Strong, powerful vocals of Anne Murray in The Little Drummer Boy are very impressive. The Conventry Carol is amazing song though, very addictive. White Christmas - This one is lively and fun. Best Of The Season couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track It Came Upon A Midnight Clear. I’ll Be Home For Christmas motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. I hope to keep hearing Anne Murray works for a long time to come. Still going through Best Of The Season and coming to appreciate Chistmas In Killarney more and more with every listen. O Holy Night had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Winer Wonderland is perfect and different song. Go Tell It On The Mountain is one of the best records ever. Anne Murray is one of artists that allow his songs like The Conventry Carol (Choral) to stand on their own and be heard. The Christmas Song is almost impossible to review. O Come All Ye Faithful is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Christmas Wishes has a fun tempo. Anne Murray sings Away In A Manger in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. No Room At The Inn presents the astounding mix of instruments on Best Of The Season. We Three Kings is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Best Of The Season. This Season Will Never Grow Old - To me, this is the best song on the Best Of The Season. I like to sing along with Born In Bethlehem, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. One listen to the sheer beauty of Mary’s Little Boy Child was all I needed. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
