Some of the arrangements found on Doin’ My Time are surprisingly edgy. Aubrey Haynie offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Tobacco Patch is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Turkey in the Straw is nothing but pure genius. Montgomery Bell is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Don’t judge Doin’ My Time on the first listening. White Bluff on Doin’ My Time is solid and easy to listen to. I believe Austin’s Dream is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written. Cracker Jack - arguably the best track on Doin’ My Time album. Doin’ My Time couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Foolin’ Around. Forty Years of Trouble the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Kentucky Hustler catches attention immediately, After about the third Trouble in Mind listen through, I began to believe this song is Aubrey Haynie’s essence.
