This is one of the best Cd’s Bjorn Lynne has dropped to date. ‘Phoenix’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. On Phoenix album, Bjorn Lynne have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This album is a scorcher!
- This one makes me want to not only sing along.
Bjorn Lynne must have run out of lyrics on the next track An Important Declaration. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Phoenix. Still going through Phoenix and coming to appreciate The Allarin more and more with every listen. I love the melodic melody of The Rogue Commander and to this day it makes me feel good. Run The Gauntlet stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. A Rude Awakening (5:18) a good melody. I was truly moved when I heard An Unlikely Alliance. Sarah is the song that really did it for me. I have all of Bjorn Lynne’s tracks and Namoul Standoff is probably the most his introspective effort. A Diplomatic Crisis - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. First time I heard The Smugglers Base was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. The Morissia Cluster - another great track from the Phoenix album.
