seven years ago, Bo Diddley briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “You Can’t Judge A Book By Its Cover”. Since Bo Diddley last CD (His Best : The Chess 50th Anniversary Collection) on Savoy Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is the first studio album from Bo Diddley since bad diagnosis in 1997. Bo Diddley is one of my favourite bands of all time.
- a classic song.
It’s a great pleasure to listen to You Can’t Judge A Book By Its Cover from the beginning to the end. I Can Tell - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Pills is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. The sound of Road Runner is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. The Story Of Bo Diddley is the first taste of the new album. Music and lyrics of Crackin’ Up creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. I think Dearest Darling is the best song Bo Diddley has ever done. Say Man is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Before You Accuse Me is the album’s biggest hit, I think. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Bo Diddley. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. This track is full of harmonies and gets His Best : The Chess 50th Anniversary Collection off to a relaxing start. It’s such an underrated song. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Pretty Thing. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. I’m A Man is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Bo Diddley one of the best in my collection.
