A Few Old Tunes is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This disc has all of the essential Boards of Canada classics. It has been eight years Boards of Canada’ last studio CD, “A Few Old Tunes” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This is my first Boards of Canada Album and i must say i am blown away.
Lyrics of are precise and evocative.
Light, Clear Hair, Pc is probably one of Boards of Canada’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. One listen to the sheer beauty of Trapped was all I needed. Rodox Video, Happy Cycling is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. The song House Of Albin’adab ending is my favorite… so catchy! Boards of Canada breathes new life into the music in Finity. Forest Moon gives taste of what makes Boards of Canada special as a musician. No Boards of Canada song has come close to capturing my attention as Skimming Stomes did. Carcan, Devil great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Mansel - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. She Is P is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Davie Addison is probably the highlight of the album. Sac, Blockbusters, I Will Get It Tattoed is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through A Few Old Tunes. The Way You Show the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. I Love You is nothing but pure genius. This is probably my favorite song on the album. M9 - Original Nglogax without a doubt is the standout song of A Few Old Tunes.
