This album has some very good songs like Payback and Another Crazy Day. Since Brownside last CD (Eastside Drama) on Blue Note Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. twelve years ago, Brownside briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Another Crazy Day”. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Eastside Drama.
is a song to enjoy for years to come.
Another Crazy Day gives taste of what makes Brownside special as a musician. KBRN - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. From the moment you listen to So Ruff you’re hooked. Danger R.I.P. is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Life on the Streets is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Gangsters Point of View - A catchy, upbeat tune. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Can’t Stop the Southland marked the continuation of Brownside in style evolution. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Look Through My Eyes. Hookin’ Up With Eazy E is a very catchy tune. Vatos ‘N the Varrio stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Excellent vocals and musical performances. People vs. Toker is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Do or Die is really the reason why I recommend buying Eastside Drama. I Never Thought - arguably the best track on Eastside Drama album. Rest in Peace - My least favorite song on this album.
