While no new Burl Ives album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Europe. Self-described as Country with lots of words, Burl Ives comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Burl Ives on ‘Overture and a Holly Jolly Christmas’. Great Country right here!
rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo.
Jingle Jingle Jingle - A classic Burl Ives track. I like We Are Santa’s Elves because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Within the first few notes of There’s Always Tomorrow it’s perfectly clear that Burl Ives is living this song. Still going through Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and coming to appreciate We’re A Couple Of Misfits more and more with every listen. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Most Wonderful Day Of The Year pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Holly Jolly Christmas is another favourite of mine. Burl Ives breathes new life into the music in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Finale). Christmas Medley: The Night Before Christmas Song/A Merry Merry … is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Nice and different song. There’s Always Tomorrow has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Burl Ives. We’re A Couple Of Misfits - arguably the best track on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer album. Silver And Gold has a fun tempo. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Most Wonderful Day Of The Year - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Holly Jolly Christmas motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. I loved I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day the first time I heard it.
