Palais Des Congres 97-98 (cd2) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This album has some very good songs like Je te rechaufferai and Viens au creux de mmon epaule. This is the first studio album from Charles Aznavour since bad diagnosis in 1997. If I may, I suggest “Je te rechaufferai”. That one song is amazing!
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener.
As always, Charles Aznavour’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Tout s’en va - My least favorite song on this album. Il faut savoir is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Pour faire une jam is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Charles Aznavour sings Je t’aime A.I.M.E. in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Presentation auteurs compositeurs has a fun tempo. In Me voila seul the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. This song stands out greatly from the others. Presentation et arrivee des Petits Chanteurs a la Croix de Bois as a highlight of Palais Des Congres 97-98 (cd2) contains a ton of astounding melodies. Listening to Les enfants you can hear that Charles Aznavour has still amazing chemistry with band members. Charles Aznavour allows each song to breathe and flourish. Les plaisiras demodes is the song that really did it for me. Non je n’ai rien oublie is probably the highlight of the album. Les deux guitares rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. From the moment you listen to Mon emouvanta amour you’re hooked. Music of La boheme is gentle, never overbearing. Music and lyrics of Nous nous reverrons un jour ou l’autre creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming.
