Choying Drolma and Steve Tibbetts was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Choying Drolma and Steve Tibbetts and Cho together. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Choying Drolma and Steve Tibbetts’s album Cho falls to No. 2 with 363,000, a sales slide of 59%. Since Choying Drolma and Steve Tibbetts last CD (Cho) on Sparrow Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
The song feels complete.
This track is just fantastic from start to finish. A unique and uplifting song. Ngani Troma Part 1 is such a astounding and optimistic song that things can get just better. Ngani Troma Part 2 is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. The sound in Cho Chendren is really warm and Choying Drolma and Steve Tibbetts’s signature voice is still very much present. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. It’s such an underrated song. I now have Shengshik Pema Jungney as one of my personal favorites. Musically Om Pana Phem is superior to other tracks in Cho. In Leymon Tendrel 1 the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Leymon Tendrel 2 - This one is lively and fun. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Nubchok Dechen because the melody in the chorus is so good. Senge Wangchuk is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Cho have ended. I like the agression and power of Dechen Monlam. I believe Praise to the Buddla Activity of the Gyalwa Karmapa is one of the most exquisite, heartfelt songs ever written.
