Records 1981-1989 isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Christian Marclay’s album Records 1981-1989 falls to No. 2 with 142,000, a sales slide of 68%. Ivan Grach has compared writing for Christian Marclay’s new album to that on ‘Records 1981-1989′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. One of Christian Marclay’s best albums yet.
This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor.
In Jukebox Capriccio you won’t find any flashy solos. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. This song stands out greatly from the others. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Pandora’s Box is my favorite song on Records 1981-1989. Brown Rain is just simply stunning. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. 1930 is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Second Coming - a classic song. Craft pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Night Music is one of my favorite songs by Christian Marclay. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Christian Marclay has astounded me with this amazing track. Christian Marclay has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. As always, Christian Marclay’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again.
