There were many famous songs of Coil available. A Thousand Lights In A Darkened Room carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. While no new Coil album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1996 tour in Asia. Unprepared Piano and Red Skeletons is really good.

Red Skeletons is the more seemingly obscure song on A Thousand Lights In A Darkened Room that bear up best to repeated listening. Strong, powerful vocals of Coil in Die Wolfe Kommen Zuruck are very impressive. I came to like Refusal Of Leave To Land. Stoned Circular I - a classic song. Stoned Circular II - A nice song. Lyrics of Green Water are precise and evocative. Cold Dream Of An Earth Star is the albums biggest surprise. Blew our minds when we first heard Blue Rats. Scratches and Dust has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Chalice has a fun tempo.
