5 - Blackacidevil carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Since completing 1996’s ‘7th House’, Danzig fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Lead single “7th House” and “Blackacidevil” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Danzig is one of my favourite bands of all time.

First time I heard Blackacidevil was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I believe See All You Were is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. Sacrifice one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Hint Of Her Blood is nothing but pure genius. Serpentia is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Come To Silver is the more seemingly obscure song on 5 - Blackacidevil that bear up best to repeated listening. In Hand Of Doom [version] the music gets its power. In Power Of Darkness the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Voice of Danzig in Ashes is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant.
