Since David Benoit last CD (American Landscape) on Mute Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. Lead single “American Landscape” and “Max’s Boogie” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is no doubt that David Benoit has talent. American Landscape is the best essence of David Benoit.

Max’s Boogie good vocals. Nice and different song. If I Can Believe - a classic song. A Personal Story as a highlight of American Landscape contains a ton of cool melodies. Rue De Ta Soleil is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Saying Goodbye. Mr. Rodriguez’s Opus make listening to David Benoit like being in some sort of time warp. David Benoit allows each song to breathe and flourish.
