It’s a great pleasure to listen to Spleens from the beginning to the end. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. End Of A Circle is simple, dignified and effective, Dead Can Dance refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Desert Sun is exquisite and different song. The first time I listened to Mystical Rain I was struck by its cool sound. I think Sailing The Sea is the best song Dead Can Dance has ever done. I like Watch Over Me because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Music and lyrics of Out Of A Serpent’s Egg creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Amelia is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Ignis - Okay, I just talked about depth. Lost Treasure has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Factuus make listening to Dead Can Dance like being in some sort of time warp. Empty Dreams is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Mourner Rose makes a person feel cool. No Dead Can Dance song has come close to capturing my attention as Garden Of Refuge did. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor.
