It has been one years Diesel Park West’ last studio CD, “Left Hand Band” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Since completing 1997’s ‘All The Myths On Sunday’, Diesel Park West fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Since Diesel Park West last CD (Left Hand Band) on Blue Note Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. Another great offering from Diesel Park West.
Within the first few notes of it’s perfectly clear that Diesel Park West is living this song.
This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Still going through Left Hand Band and coming to appreciate Jackie’s Still Sad more and more with every listen. When The Hoodoo Comes is worth the money. Fall To Love have really caught my ear and imagination. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Bell Of Hope good vocals. I Want No Mystery is outstanding work of Diesel Park West. In Fine Lily Fine the music gets its power. Girl With The Name stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. This track is full of harmonies and gets Left Hand Band off to a relaxing start. King Fluid is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Let’s Talk American - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Heathen A Go Go actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Diesel Park West’s face. I listened to the opening track Above These Things and liked it a lot. While The World Cries Decency - Diesel Park West first major hit.
