It’s natural for DJ Food to take a stab at ‘Strange Taste’ considering her long-professed love for Depeche Mode. Since DJ Food last CD (A Recipe For Disaster) on Sparrow Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. There were many famous songs of DJ Food available. Another great offering from DJ Food.
- isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody.
Dark River is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Inosan is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Although Scratch Yer Hed is very melodic it is far from sad. Lyrics of Mr. Quickie Cuts The Cheese are precise and evocative. I now have Hip Slop as one of my personal favorites. Musically Brass Neck is superior to other tracks in A Recipe For Disaster. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Such hits like The Dusk will leave you hooked. Bass City Roller one is one of the better boring ones. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Still going through A Recipe For Disaster and coming to appreciate Akaire more and more with every listen. A Little Samba - Okay, I just talked about depth. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Scientific Youth. Taste Strange stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty.
