Since completing 1996’s ‘Aftermath’, Dr. Dre fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. The Aftermath isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It has been five years Dr. Dre’ last studio CD, “The Aftermath” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. The Aftermath is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
is a striking and quite long song.
When I listen to As the World Keeps Turning in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Been There Done That has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Blunt Time is simple, dignified and effective, Dr. Dre refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Choices is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Musically Do 4 Love is superior to other tracks in The Aftermath. Still going through The Aftermath and coming to appreciate East Coast - West Coast Killas more and more with every listen. Some of the arrangements found on The Aftermath are surprisingly edgy. Got Me Open is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Nationowl to me is the best you can get from Dr. Dre. This track is clearly meant to showcase Dr. Dre’s vocal abilities. Please as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Sexy Dance marked the continuation of Dr. Dre in style evolution. In Shittin’ On The World the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Str-8 Gone - My least favorite song on this album.
