On Old Codes New Chaos album, Fila Brazillia have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is the first studio album from Fila Brazillia since bad diagnosis in 1994. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Fila Brazillia energies, virtually a rebirth. Smart music for smart people.
So much energy, so exciting a sound.
It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Whose Money - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Voice of Fila Brazillia in Brazilification is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Serratia Marcescens is so unique, as each one of the songs is. The Sheriff has a fun tempo. Album opener Feinman is a bright, upbeat ditty. Some call The Light of Jesus from Old Codes New Chaos as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Strange Thoughts hits the heart. Fila Funk - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Pots & Pans has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. New Chaos - I just love it.
