Walkin is the most memorable and exquisite. Best song on the album, love it. From the moment you listen to Lover Man (Oh, Where Can You B you’re hooked. The Truth is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Simple and heartfelt closing track Hommage Swee Pea closes Jazz Masters 55 on a high note. Cornet Shop Suey is so unique, as each one of the songs is. If I Could Be With You is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Such hits like Frenesi will leave you hooked. Music of Blues Like is gentle, never overbearing. The Jazz Conoisseur is a medium tempo tune. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. A Swinging Serenade is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Rosebud is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
