There is no doubt that Holly Cole has talent. Holly Cole was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Holly Cole and Dark Dear Heart together. This is one of the best Cd’s Holly Cole has dropped to date. Dark Dear Heart is the best essence of Holly Cole.
I’ve found myself listening to back to back and back many times.
I Told Him That My Dog Wouldn’t Run is one of the coolest songs Holly Cole has ever recorded. Brighter Lonely Day (Run, Run, Run) - This one is lively and fun. River is beautiful, yet underrated track. Hold On is the song that really did it for me. World Seems To Come And Go (5:15) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Holly Cole must have run out of lyrics on the next track You Want More. I came to like Timbuktu. In Dark, Dear Heart it becomes nowhere more obvious that Holly Cole has yet to define own style. Onion Girl stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. When I listen to Make It Go Away in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Holly Cole emotions are reflected through I’ve Just Seen A Face.
