After few listenings I started to like Maypole Dance more and more. The song feels complete. Slovakian Song is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Slovakian Song I? is a exquisite sing-along. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Wallachian Song. Iva Bittova and Dorothea Kellerova allows each song to breathe and flourish. Play Song is just simply stunning. The opening track Midsummer Night Song is very much like you would expect from other albums. Hay Song without a doubt is the standout song of 44 Duets For Two Violins. Havest Song gives good insight into the truths. In Wedding Song you won’t find any flashy solos. Menuetto is a striking and quite long song. Charming song, great melody. Lyrics of Enumerating Song are precise and evocative. Dance From Marmaros is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Improvisation I - Okay, I just talked about depth. You have to get essence of the Birdie’s Farewell’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. A Fair Tale is the most memorable and exquisite. Rutherian Song - I just love it. Simple and heartfelt closing track Cradle Song closes 44 Duets For Two Violins on a high note. Rutherian Kolomeika is a song to enjoy for years to come. Iva Bittova and Dorothea Kellerova rocks harder than ever with Bagpipes. Get 44 Duets For Two Violins and turn on Soldier’s Song if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Hungarian March - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Hungarian March I? on 44 Duets For Two Violins is solid and easy to listen to. If you are a Iva Bittova and Dorothea Kellerova fan, you will love Wallachian Dance. A Rhythm Song as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. The sound of Hungarian Song I? is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Sorrow is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Teasing Song which is my favorite is a truly Iva Bittova and Dorothea Kellerova sounding song. Limping Dance presents the amazing mix of instruments on 44 Duets For Two Violins. Mosquito Dance the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Rumanian Whirling Dance is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I’ve found myself listening to Serbian Dance back to back and back many times. After about the third Prelude and Canon listen through, I began to believe this song is Iva Bittova and Dorothea Kellerova’s essence. Improvisation I?? defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Iva Bittova and Dorothea Kellerova offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Music in New Year’s Greeting I?? is cool as in all tracks of 44 Duets For Two Violins. New Year’s Greeting Iv great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Arabian Song - This one is lively and fun. Scherzo - My least favorite song on this album. A great put together song. Comic Song is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. One listen to the sheer beauty of Pillow Dance was all I needed. Epilogue is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite.
