This album has some very good songs like New Train and Ain’t Hurtin’ Nobody. It has been twelve years John Prine’ last studio CD, “Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Lead single “New Train” and “Ain’t Hurtin’ Nobody” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings constantly brilliant.
which is my favorite is a truly John Prine sounding song.
In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of John Prine. If you are a John Prine fan, you will love All The Way With You. We Are The Lonely one is one of the better boring ones. Lake Marie is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Humidity Built The Snowman. Day Is Done - Okay, I just talked about depth. Quit Hollerin’ At Me - I just love it. Big Fat Love make listening to John Prine like being in some sort of time warp. John Prine sings his heart out in Same Thing Happened To Me. This Love Is Real - This one is lively and fun. Leave The Lights On great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.He Forgot That It Was Sunday is a bit different from John Prine stereotypical stuff. I Love You So Much It Hurts is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track.
