Self-described as Avantgarde with lots of words, Laibach comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. It has been two years Laibach’ last studio CD, “The Occupied Europe N.A.T.O. Tour (Live)” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. On the Ireland charts, superstar Laibach’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Unappreciated gift to Avantgarde
is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
Still going through The Occupied Europe N.A.T.O. Tour (Live) and coming to appreciate War (Edwin Starr Cover) more and more with every listen. Final Countdown (Europe Cover) one of the best in my collection. In The Army Now (Status Quo Cover) is a cool, simple song by Laibach at the top of his game. Alle Gegen Alle I just LOVE this mix! In National Reservation the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. I’ve found myself listening to 2525 back to back and back many times. Mars On River Drina is probably the highlight of the album. Everlasting Union - Laibach first major hit. Leben Heisst Leben is a very catchy tune. Laibach is one of artists that allow his songs like Sympathy For The Devil (Rolling Stone Cover) to stand on their own and be heard. Trans-National - arguably the best track on The Occupied Europe N.A.T.O. Tour (Live) album. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. All of songs on The Occupied Europe N.A.T.O. Tour (Live) and have something to say letting alone Geburt Einer Nation. Best song on the album, love it.
