On The Infamous album, Mobb Deep have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. There is so much to love about Mobb Deep, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Mobb Deep on ‘The Start Of Your Ending (41st Side)’. Last Hot Album by Mobb Deep
Opening track shows the best of Mobb Deep.
The Infamous Prelude is pretty funky and mellow. Mobb Deep rocks harder than ever with Survival Of The Fittest. Eye For A Eye (your Beef Is Mine) - This is a very lively song. A great put together song. Give Up The Goods (just Step) make listening to Mobb Deep like being in some sort of time warp. Temperatures Rising pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Up North Trip is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Mobb Deep sings Trife Life in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Q U -hectic - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Right Back At You. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: The Grave Prelude, which shows, blatantly, how much Mobb Deep has evolved as a singer. Although The Cradle To The Grave is very melodic it is far from sad. Drink Away The Pain (situations) presents the amazing mix of instruments on The Infamous. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Party Over is possibly the best song Mobb Deep has come up. Shook Ones Pt I (original Version) is the perfect blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. I was truly moved when I heard Survival Of The Fittest (remix).
