Lead single “The Sweet Hereafter” and “Procession” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. The Sweet Hereafter isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There is so much to love about Mychael Danna, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is my first Mychael Danna Album and i must say i am blown away.
It’s such an underrated song.
Excellent vocals and musical performances. Song One More Colour is actually a funny song. Bus has a fun tempo. Bus Stop is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Courage. There is gorgeous mix of music in It’s Important That We Talk. Dog Track Drizzle gives taste of what makes Mychael Danna special as a musician. Thin Ice rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Pied Piper sets the tone for the entire album. When I listen to A Huge Wave in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Boy is nothing but pure genius. Why I Lied is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Mychael Danna has astounded me with this amazing track.
