Since Opeth last CD (Morningrise) on Virgin Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. Morningrise is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Lead single “Advent” and “The Night and The Silent Water” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Morningrise touched my soul like nothing else.
This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time.
The Night and The Silent Water is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Nectar is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. So much energy, so exciting a sound.To Bid You Farewell which is my favorite is a truly Opeth sounding song. Eternal Soul Torture (bonus; Eternal Soul Torture (bonus)) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit.
