Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Patrice Rushen on ‘Forget Me Nots’. This disc has all of the essential Patrice Rushen classics. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Patrice Rushen’s album Straight from the Heart falls to No. 2 with 705,000, a sales slide of 57%. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Straight from the Heart.

I Was Tired Of Being Alone - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. All We Need great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.It took me a little time but I ended up loving Number One (Instrumental). After you’ve listened to Where There Is Love, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Although Breakout! is very melodic it is far from sad. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with If Only. Remind Me is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. (She Will) Take You Down To Love is a astounding, simple song by Patrice Rushen at the top of his game. Forget Me Nots (12′ Version) is pretty funky and mellow. In Breakout! (12′ Version) it becomes nowhere more obvious that Patrice Rushen has yet to define own style. This song may be the most meaningful. Forget Me Nots (Single Version) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Breakout! (Single Version) is simple, dignified and effective, Patrice Rushen refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more.
