Since Paul Heinerman last CD (The Ancient World) on Savoy Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is one of the best Cd’s Paul Heinerman has dropped to date. It has been two years Paul Heinerman’ last studio CD, “The Ancient World” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
After about the third listen through, I began to believe this song is Paul Heinerman’s essence.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The Ancient World is Across The Desert. The Eternay City one is one of the better boring ones. In Egyptian Song Paul Heinerman is at his best. In Islands (Of Greece) it becomes nowhere more obvious that Paul Heinerman has yet to define own style. A Change Of Paradise - This one is lively and fun. Behind The Horizon is almost impossible to review. Carthago - A nice song. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Evion’s Dream can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Paul Heinerman is all about. The Silent Of The Sphinx is a song to enjoy for years to come. The Performer is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song.
