Since completing 1997’s ‘Stare Bene a Meta”, Pino Daniele fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Now signed to Pino Daniele’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “Dimmi Cosa Succede Sulla Terra” leads Pino Daniele’s back-to-school campaign. It’s natural for Pino Daniele to take a stab at ‘Stare Bene a Meta” considering her long-professed love for 2 Unlimited. If you love Pino Daniele as much as I do, then Pino Daniele Dimmi Cosa Succede Sulla Terra is the CD for you!
What sets apart is Pino Daniele’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres.
Amici Come Prima make listening to Pino Daniele like being in some sort of time warp. Non Ho Puara del Mostro is probably the most interesting track on Dimmi Cosa Succede Sulla Terra. Still going through Dimmi Cosa Succede Sulla Terra and coming to appreciate Scirocco d’ Africa more and more with every listen. Nice and different song. I like the idea behind Mia Emozione Piu’ Forte. After you’ve listened to Che Male C’, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. In Continueremo a Navigare the music gets its power. I love the melodic melody of Pianeta Delle Parole and to this day it makes me feel good. Questo Immenso is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. In Canto Do Mar you won’t find any flashy solos. Desert in My Head is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Se Domani Piovera’ is Pino Daniele’s best work in years.
