Lead single “Stone” and “I Don’t Want To Be Late” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album has some very good songs like Stone and I Don’t Want To Be Late. This disc has all of the essential Prince Alla classics. One of Prince Alla’s best albums yet.
I hope to keep hearing Prince Alla works for a long time to come.
I Don’t Want To Be Late to me is the best you can get from Prince Alla. I like the idea behind Only Love Can Conquer. Sun Is Shining - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Still going through Only Love Can Conquer 1976 - 1979 and coming to appreciate They Never Love (in disco style) more and more with every listen. Lot’s Wife is a bit of a show-tune. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Only Love Can Conquer 1976 - 1979. Mama No Fight is another strong production from Prince Alla. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is City Without Pity. Lady Deceiver is one of the best records ever. Youthman In The Ghetto (in disco style) is a good listen every once in a while. Nice and different song. Some call Their Reward (bonus cd track) from Only Love Can Conquer 1976 - 1979 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. I have all of Prince Alla’s tracks and Dread Locks Nazarine (bonus cd track) is probably the most his introspective effort.
