This disc has all of the essential Rick James and Stone City Band classics. On Urban Rapsody album, Rick James and Stone City Band have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. eight years ago, Rick James and Stone City Band briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “West Coast Thang”. Overall, I would highly recommend Urban Rapsody CD.
Rick James and Stone City Band rocks harder than ever with .
West Coast Thang is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Somebody’s Watching You - a classic song. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Back In You Again. Turn It Out is a perfect sing-along. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Urban Rapsody is Good Of Days. Player’s Way is perfect. Never Say You Love Me - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. It’s Time is the albums biggest surprise. So Soft So Wet - Rick James and Stone City Band first major hit. Bring On The Love had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Mama’s Eyes is possibly the best song Rick James and Stone City Band has come up. Soul Sista has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Favorite Flava is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Song Urban Rapsody (reprise) is actually a funny song.
