Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Robert Johnson comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is the first studio album from Robert Johnson since bad diagnosis in 1997. It has been five years Robert Johnson’ last studio CD, “King of the Delta Blues” which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like King of the Delta Blues.
is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside.
Traveling Riverside Blues is a medium tempo tune. Walking Blues is pretty funky and mellow. Within the first few notes of Dust My Broom it’s perfectly clear that Robert Johnson is living this song. Hellhound on My Trail - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Robert Johnson. Kindhearted Woman Blues is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Rambling on My Mind is worth the money. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. I like the agression and power of Come on in My Kitchen. Robert Johnson sings 32-20 Blues in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. From Four Till Late very upbeat. I was truly moved when I heard I’m a Steady Rollin’ Man. Love in Vain is a great opener for King of the Delta Blues. Robert Johnson offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. When You Got a Good Friend to me is the best you can get from Robert Johnson. After about the third Sweet Home Chicago listen through, I began to believe this song is Robert Johnson’s essence.
