Since Rondo Veneziano last CD (Il Mago di Venezia) on Blue Note Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is one of the best Cd’s Rondo Veneziano has dropped to date. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Rondo Veneziano energies, virtually a rebirth. Il Mago di Venezia is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
is a medium tempo tune.
I have all of Rondo Veneziano’s tracks and Nettuno is probably the most his introspective effort. I loved Canaletto the first time I heard it. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Alchimie Sonore, which shows, blatantly, how much Rondo Veneziano has evolved as a singer. Filigrana is the albums biggest surprise. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Iridescenze is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Rondo Veneziano is hitting on all cylinders in Deserti Lontani. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Rondo Veneziano breathes new life into the music in Tiepolo. Blu Oltremare is a bit different from Rondo Veneziano stereotypical stuff. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit.
