Since completing 1997’s ‘Speak’, Sevendust fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Sevendust isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There is so much to love about Sevendust, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This album is awesome.
Best song on the album, love it.
Prayer is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Face still maintains something of a specific flourish. Some of the arrangements found on Sevendust are surprisingly edgy. Wired is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. The sound of Terminator is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Black - A classic Sevendust track. Bitch the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. My Ruin is a romantic if not formulaic ditty.
