Filthy Lucre isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Sex Pistols’s debut, ‘Filthy Lucre’, does not fit easily into one genre. Self-described as Rock: Punk-Rock with lots of words, Sex Pistols comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Sex Pistols “Filthy Lucre” is an amazing album.
I have all of Sex Pistols’s tracks and is probably the most his introspective effort.
In Seventeen it becomes nowhere more obvious that Sex Pistols has yet to define own style. New York is probably the highlight of the album. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Did You No Wrong - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Sex Pistols. After you’ve listened to God Save The Queen, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Sex Pistols sings his heart out in Liar. Satellite pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. The first time I listened to Holidays In The Sun I was struck by its perfect sound. Submission is almost impossible to review. Strong, powerful vocals of Sex Pistols in Pretty Vacant are very impressive. E.M.I is probably the most interesting track on Filthy Lucre. Anarchy In The Uk to me is the best you can get from Sex Pistols. Problems catches attention immediately, One listen to the sheer beauty of Buddies was all I needed. Voice of Sex Pistols in No Fun is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Problems(Spedding Demo) is pretty funky and mellow.
