While no new Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble Of Shadows album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1994 tour in Australia. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble Of Shadows on ‘Travel On Breath’. When you buy a Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble Of Shadows album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Ich Tote Mich….
is the album’s biggest hit, I think.
Voice and instruments in Falling Into Different Flesh complement each other. Birth - Fiendish Figuration - This one is lively and fun. This song may be the most meaningful. Im Garten Des Nichts which is my favorite is a truly Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble Of Shadows sounding song. Music and lyrics of Time Stands Still creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Do You Know My Name? is another strong production from Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble Of Shadows. Penance and Pain make listening to Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble Of Shadows like being in some sort of time warp. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Beautiful Thorn is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. I can’t stop playing The Feast Of Blood. Opening track Dark Delight shows the best of Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble Of Shadows. Baptisma is a very catchy tune. Birth - Fiendish Figuration stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty.
