Southern Comfort carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by The Crusaders. After seeing Stomp And Buck Dance, I had to have a good The Crusaders cd. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about The Crusaders ever.
The opening track is very much like you would expect from other albums.
Greasy Spoon - A catchy, upbeat tune. I listened to the opening track Get On The Soul Ship (It’s Sailing) and liked it a lot. Super-Stuff sets the tone for the entire album. I have all of The Crusaders’s tracks and Double Bubble is probably the most his introspective effort. Blew our minds when we first heard The Well’s Gone Dry. Southern Comfort can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what The Crusaders is all about. You have to get essence of the Time Bomb’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. When There’s Love Around is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Lilies Of The Nile is outstanding work of The Crusaders. I now have Whispering Pines as one of my personal favorites. Simple and heartfelt closing track A Ballad For Joe (Louis) closes Southern Comfort on a high note.
