There is so much to love about The English Beat, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. While no new The English Beat album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1996 tour in Africa. B.P.M. …Beats Per Minute (CD1) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. If you love The English Beat as much as I do, then The English Beat B.P.M. …Beats Per Minute (CD1) is the CD for you!
is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen.
Hands Off She’s Mine defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Charming song, great melody. Jackpot is the album’s biggest hit, I think. The English Beat must have run out of lyrics on the next track Tears Of A Clown. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Rough Rider hits the heart. Best Friend is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Stand Down Margaret (3:32) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Too Nice To Talk Too is the albums biggest surprise. This song stands out greatly from the others. Although Door Of Your Heart is very melodic it is far from sad. Drowning is a amazing song and it grows on you. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in B.P.M. …Beats Per Minute (CD1). I Confess - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of The English Beat. Save It For Later is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about.
