There is no doubt that The Flying Burrito Brothers has talent. This is one of the best Cd’s The Flying Burrito Brothers has dropped to date. Since completing 1995’s ‘Christine’s Tune (A.K.A. Devil in Disguise)’, The Flying Burrito Brothers fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. The Flying Burrito Brothers “The Last of the Red Hot Burritos” is an amazing album.
- For me, this is the best of the album.
Six Days on the Road is perfect. One listen to the sheer beauty of My Uncle was all I needed. I like the idea behind Dixie Breakdown. I can’t stop playing Orange Blossom Special. The sound in Ain’t That a Lot of Love is really warm and The Flying Burrito Brothers’s signature voice is still very much present. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The Last of the Red Hot Burritos is High Fashion Queen. The Flying Burrito Brothers must have run out of lyrics on the next track Don’t Fight It. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Losing Game is probably the most interesting track on The Last of the Red Hot Burritos.
