This is one of the best Cd’s The Gentle People has dropped to date. Living isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Since completing 1997’s ‘Intro’, The Gentle People fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. If I may, I suggest “Intro”. That one song is amazing!
First time I heard was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.
Once you hear The Soundtrack Of Life, you will listen to it over and over. Journey is one of my favorite songs by The Gentle People. This song stands out greatly from the others. Laurie’s Theme defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Emotion Heater is another favourite of mine. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of The Gentle People. Travel Bug rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Le Tunnel De L’amour - Okay, I just talked about depth. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Musically A Close Encounter is superior to other tracks in Living. I like the agression and power of Tiki Mix. Relaxation Central great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Outro is the first taste of the new album.
