It’s natural for Tri Yann to take a stab at ‘Olivier Herry’ considering her long-professed love for EMF. When you buy a Tri Yann album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Tri Yann on ‘Olivier Herry’. Portraits touched my soul like nothing else.
is nothing but pure genius.
Arthur Plantagenest - I like this one. I loved Goulven Sala the first time I heard it. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. In Madeleine Bernard it becomes nowhere more obvious that Tri Yann has yet to define own style. Marie-Camille Lehuede is a great opener for Portraits. Brian Boru - This one is lively and fun. Voyage as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. I hope to keep hearing Tri Yann works for a long time to come. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Portraits is Anne de Bretagne. Adieu have really caught my ear and imagination. Bagne is a cool song and it grows on you. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Seznec Est Innocent! is a very catchy tune.
