It’s natural for Yann Tiersen to take a stab at ‘La Vie Quotidienne’ considering her long-professed love for Orkrist. Lead single “La Vie Quotidienne” and “La Piece Vide” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Rue Des Cascades is an amazing album, racked with beauty.I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Yann Tiersen ever.

La Piece Vide actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Yann Tiersen’s face. Priere N-3 is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Album opener La Fenetre is a bright, upbeat ditty. Yann Tiersen has astounded me with this amazing track. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. I love the melodic melody of C’etait Ici and to this day it makes me feel good. Toujours La is nothing but pure genius. Le Vieux En Veut Encore is the amazing blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Soir De Fete is a striking and quite long song. The opening track Naomi is very much like you would expect from other albums. La Muette - Okay, I just talked about depth. Mouvement Introductif is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Rue Des Cascades. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Deja Loin have really caught my ear and imagination. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. No Yann Tiersen song has come close to capturing my attention as Comptine D’ete N-2 did. Simple and heartfelt closing track Pas Si Simple closes Rue Des Cascades on a high note. Rue Des Cascades is probably one of Yann Tiersen’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect.
